PROJECT OVERVIEW:

This project developed the overall brand image of Stirnella Bar & Kitchen, from the company name and logo to the interior design and external signage. The owners envisioned Stirnella as an attractive, high-end restaurant that highlighted superb cuisine in an upcoming neighborhood, and Luna Project more than delivered. We ensured that every detail reflected the brand's image, from the art to the furniture and menu design.

When Luna Project joined in, Stirnella was only a name concept: Meadowlark, for the Nebraska state bird. We anticipated issues with naming something so common, including website domain availability, social media handles and state-wide recognition of the restaurant. After brainstorming and research, inspiration was derived the meadowlark’s genus, Sturnella, and then adapted to include a subtle pun that alludes to the culinary arts (“stir”). From there, we developed signage that reflected the historic nature of Stirnella’s brick-and-mortar home, fusing aged, industrial character with compelling modern touches for the revitalized neighborhood. The branding and internal visual execution were thoughtfully woven with environmental stories, which were incorporated into natural textures and textiles, as well as custom art. Our main strategy was cohesion through every part, and it was vital for us to set the business up with design and marketing collateral that would carry it through its critical beginnings.
